Christmas is coming to Whitehaven

Another great week in the attic, with my lovely customers keeping me busy. Old and new. Humbled as always x Standouts this week have been two lots of wedding flowers going out, dressing The Peddler’s tables, reception and bar with Christmas flowers. The Peddler is, a gorgeous trendy bar and restaurant in Whitehaven, if you haven’t been you really should. It has a great vibe and they pride themselves on local food and supporting local businesses. And finally dressing Tony Marks with Rebecca Jones hairdresser windows for Christmas.

I can’t divulge anything about the weddings at the moment, but the Peddler and Tony Marks both had a similar colour scheme.

For the peddler I used tones of pale greens, whites and silvers with a very subtle hint of glitter. My inspiration was frosty morning. We have saved the previous arrangements I had made earlier this year so they can be used again. That is the real beauty of dried flowers if you look after them they will last months if not years.

For this reception display I just added some seasonal foliage which can be removed after Christmas.

I love how they have added the table numbers, keeping with the natural theme.

Tony Marks window was inspired by an enchanted winter evening. It was a lovely crescent moon and star, which I made using thousands of white feathers. The moon itself was a meter high. I created a subtle backdrop so it looked like falling snow and it helped balance the windows, as they are so big.

The windowsills were covered in fluffy fabric as if snow had fallen and dressed with natural pinecones, and twigs. As always trying to use natural products and recycle what I can. The vase was recycled plastic; the presents, baubles were the shops own and the big balloon was part of a previous installation, which I removed and used it to look like a massive bauble.

The back of the display is as important as the front as you want the clients to look onto something pretty.

This display can be used again and again. It can also be used for other schemes throughout the year like Valentines and Halloween. I already have ideas how this can be done. Head is always buzzing x
