Flower School Adventures: June, July and early August Roundup 🌸

The past two and half months at our flower school have been nothing short of incredible. We've had a whirlwind of workshops, creative moments, and unforgettable experiences that have brought together people of all ages, from budding young florists to seasoned flower enthusiasts. The weeks were packed with fun, learning, and a whole lot of flowers. Here's a glimpse into what we've been up to.

Children's Workshops: Creativity Blossoms 🌟

Kicking off the summer holidays, we hosted several children's workshops that were an absolute delight. It was heart warming to see the boys and girls getting creative together. In one of the workshops, the children worked with pressed flowers—no easy task, but they nailed it! They used these delicate blooms to decorate glass jars, transforming them into beautiful tea lights with the addition of battery-operated candles. Each jar was personalized with string or ribbon, making the morning a wonderful blend of creativity and joy. 🌼

In another session, our younger participants got hands-on with flower arranging. They learned about the different types of flowers they were using, how to arrange them in glass jars they had decorated beforehand with ribbons and heart-shaped tags. To complete their masterpieces, they decorated gift bags with dried flowers to take their beautiful creations home. 🌸 I was so proud of how creative and engaged the kids were.

Friends and Flowers Club: Lavender Dreams 💜

Heart shaped wreaths made out of fresh lavender

Our monthly Friends and Flowers Club continues to be a highlight, with July’s gathering being especially memorable. Surrounded by the soothing scent of lavender—both fresh and dried—we made lavender heart wreaths and sachets. The ladies also wrapped up bunches of dried lavender to take home. As always, there were plenty of cuppas, cakes, and craic. It was wonderful to see both new and familiar faces enjoying a relaxing morning of creativity. If you're looking for a flower arrangement school near me, our Friends and Flowers Club is the perfect place to start. 🌿

Meadow Box Workshop: Embracing the Wild 🌾

Our half-day Meadow Box workshops were an absolute hit. The birch bark containers perfectly complemented the wild meadow arrangements. Achieving that effortless wildflower look is harder than it seems, but the ladies who joined were brilliant. Using sustainable mechanics (#nofloralfoam), everyone created stunning, unique arrangements. 🌼 There was lots of laughter, a few false starts, but ultimately, everyone nailed it! If you're searching for a floristry school near me that embraces sustainable practices, this workshop is a must.

Dried Flower Wreath Workshop: Timeless Creations 🎀

Our dried flower wreath workshops have been incredibly popular, and it's easy to see why. Ladies from as far as London and Falkirk joined us to create beautiful, everlasting wreaths. Some chose to cover the entire wreath, while others left parts of the twig base exposed, showcasing the natural beauty of the materials. 🌿 It never ceases to amaze me how, even with the same materials, each person's creation is so different. If you're interested in sustainable floristry courses or schools of flower arranging, this workshop is for you.

Two-Day Intensive Course: A Floral Feast 🌻

We also hosted our first-ever two-day intensive floristry course, and what a blast it was! The two days were filled with learning, laughter, and, of course, flowers. 🌷 We covered everything from flower conditioning to bouquet styles, with hands-on practice sessions that helped everyone master techniques like the spiral. The results were breathtaking, and it was clear that everyone left with new skills, confidence, and plenty of beautiful flowers. For those looking for a school for florists or 1-day floristry courses, our intensive workshop offers an immersive experience.

Floristry workshop courses, Nailing the spiral technique

Not an easy technique to do but after a practice with some branches the ladies were let loose on some beautiful flowers. As you can see the results speak for themselves x

Harry's Birthday 🐶

Not flower related but my constant companion was 15 on 8 August 2024 so I had to mark his special day. Here he is with his baby blanket which used to be fluffy and is now bold and covered in holes 🤣

Wrapping Up 🌸

As we reflect on these past two and half months, it's clear that everything is going from strength to strength at our flower school. We've shared countless cups of tea, enjoyed a lot of laughs, and created stunning floral arrangements that everyone was proud to take home. It's been a fantastic journey so far, and I can't wait to see what the coming months bring.

Thank you to everyone who has joined us in our workshops and clubs —you make this flower school a truly special place. Here's to more flowers, more laughs, and more creativity! 🌷
